Substance Abuse Prevention; A School Resource for Grades 4,5 and 6 is an activity based curriculum support document for teachers which aims to provide a dynamic, creative learning environment through games, stories, puzzles and art work.

It follows Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines and complements the OPHEA (Ontario Physical Health and Education Association) Curriculum Support Document which gives specific expectations for the " Substance Use and Abuse" Unit.

It has two parts:

Part 1: "Stations" for grades 4 and 5 (PDF file size 270 KB); consists of six interactive activities which incorporate choice using 3 key aspects of prevention: knowledge, attitudes and skills development.

Part 2: The three activities for grade 6 (PDF file size 119 KB); A facts Quiz on Cannabis, A Social Influence Debate and A Jeopardy Game cover substance abuse, peer pressure and decision-making skills.
